Teaching
Prof. Davidsen strives to ensure that all trainees gain the skills to push knowledge boundaries and to apply leading-edge science creatively to the challenges of modern life by providing them with suitable learning, research and instructional opportunities and appropriate feedback. These skills include, but are not limited to, research and data analysis, scientific programming, effective communication and scientific writing, independent working, inclusivity and mentoring new group members. His unconscious bias training at the University Calgary allows him to ensure an inclusive research and training environment and to promote equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) principles within his group. When composing a collaborative team, he recognizes that EDI principles are important to ensure a highly productive, balanced work environment. In terms of scientific knowledge, specialized courses at the advanced undergrad (PHYS521) and grad level (PHYS619, PHYS621) developed by him provide the necessary physical and mathematical background to tackle relevant scientific challenges.
