The Student Success Centre (SSC) offers a range of academic support services including exploratory advising, writing assistance, academic advising and development workshops. The Welcome Centre is a temporary support office that helps students who are new to Calgary transition smoothly into university life by providing information, resources, and support. It serves as a first point of contact for incoming students, offering guidance on everything from orientation to settling into campus life, ensuring that students feel welcomed and prepared for their academic journey.

Writing Symbols Lodge is a welcoming space for Indigenous students and the UCalgary community, providing cultural, academic and personal support to help them succeed. It fosters a sense of community and belonging through peer-based programs, advising and events that celebrate Indigenous ways of knowing, doing, connecting and being. It’s also home to a cultural resource room for Indigenous student seeking a space for ceremony, computer lab, and the Red Lodge, where students can congregate to study or connect.
UCalgary Recovery Community (UCRC)
Are you questioning your relationship with substances and/or other behaviours? Are you in recovery, or seeking recovery from addiction?
The UCRC is an inclusive, peer-driven space supporting all pathways to recovery, building community, and reducing addiction stigma on campus. Get support through a community of caring peers. Activities include ally training, peer-support, social events anti-stigma initiatives and more.
