PoMELO in the field

PoMELO (Portable Methane Leak Observatory)

The PoMELO system is a University of Calgary project to build a high performance methane sensing system for the upstream oil and gas industry and serve as a research platform to advance mobile pollution monitoring technologies within the Centre for Smart Emissions Sensing Technologies, led by Prof. Chris Hugenholtz (Department of Geography, Faculty of Arts).

Multiple PoMELO systems are presently in full time industrial use across Alberta, Canada in regulator-approved leak detection and emissions management programs.
