IDEaS

Autonomous Systems for Defence and Security: Trust and Barriers to Adoption - Canada.ca

Dr. Yanushkevich is a PI in one of 1 of 6 micro-networks (micro-nets) across Canada. Funded by the Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS), these university micro-net projects are working to innovate defence solutions for Canada.

The micro-net led by Dr. Yanushkevich is titled AutoDefence: Towards Trustworthy Technologies for Autonomous Human-Machine Systems. This micro-net combines 9 teams from five universities: University of Calgary, University of Toronto, McGill University, the University of Waterloo, and Concordia University. The project works towards improving decision processes for autonomous systems and determining the cognitive load on human teams when paired with autonomous systems.

NSERC CREATE

Wearable Technology Program | Faculty of Kinesiology | University of Calgary (ucalgary.ca)

Our lab is one of the teams participating in the NSERC Wearable Technology Research and Collaboration (We-TRAC) training program. The PI is Dr. Reed Ferber from the Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Calgary, and Dr. Yanushkeivch is one of 10 co-Applicants. The teams explore unique ways of incorporating wearable sensor technology into their research while contributing to one of the fastest-growing industries in the world.
