Education and Training
The CUC Urban Environmental Management Project offers timely and interesting
presentations on a wide variety of issues. Beyond its full-time Graduate Studies Program
(conferring Master's and PhD degrees in UEM), the CUC delivers short courses (5 - 10 days)
and interactive workshops (1 - 3 days), as well as dynamic seminars and educational
discussion sessions. The CUC reaches out to a great number of active practitioners and
researchers in the field of UEM, with the express purpose of enhancing the overall urban
management capacities throughout the Southeast Asian region. Often presented in
conjunction with our partner organizations, expert speakers are invited from Canada and
around the world, to share their experiences and expertise with diverse groups of
students, government officials, NGOs, businesspeople, and others. Some events are held at
AIT's Bangkok campus, but many take place "out in the field" - wherever there is
an interest and a need (e.g., E.I.A. training in Siem Reap, Cambodia; Sustainable Tourism
in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR; and numerous topics all over Thailand: in Bangkok, Hua Hin,
Phuket, Phimai, Chiang Mai, etc). For more information, check our listings of past and
future courses - there's bound to be one that interests you!
