EPILEPSY
Epilepsy is a disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, which are sudden uncontrolled hypersynchronous increases in neuronal activity. We are currently working in collaboration with Evgeny Pavlov to develop a dissociated cell culture model system for studying epilepsy and seizures. The value of a culture based platform for a seizure model is the ease with which biochemical processes can be studied.
