Sarah Eaton
Sarah Elaine Eaton, PhD, is a two-time alumna from the University of Calgary (M.A ’97, PhD ’09) and a faculty member in the Werklund School of Education. She was awarded the Werklund School of Education Teaching Excellence Award in 2015 and has taught thousands of students during her career. She believes deeply in the value of learning as a lifelong endeavour. Before coming to Calgary, Eaton completed her B.A. (Hons.) at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax and also studied at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. Eaton has conducted teacher training in Mexico, Cuba and Honduras, helping fellow educators build their professional capacity and grow as teachers.
Eaton’s research expertise and interests focus on ethics and integrity in higher education contexts including academic integrity policy, plagiarism prevention, educational approaches to cultivating integrity and research ethics. She also serves on the University of Calgary’s Conjoint Faculties Research Ethics Board (CFREB).
She is honoured to be serving on the University of Calgary Senate and to contributing to the University’s mission, vision and values though this work.
