Overview

Dr. Marina Gavrilova is a Professor and the Associate Head of Research and Strategic Planning in the Department of Computer Science, as well as the Editor-In-Chief of Transactions on Computational Science, Springer. Her research touches on topics such as computer graphics, image processing, computational geometry, biometrics, geographical information systems, and computer modeling and simulation. Additionally, she is the head of two labs, the Biometric Technologies Laboratory and the Spatial Analysis Research in Computational Science Lab (SPARCS). Dr. Gavriolva’s research allows her to work on aerial surveillance and object recognition with the University of Calgary Aerospace Network.
