Overview

Dr. Naser El-Sheimy is a Professor in the Department of Geomatics Engineering, as well, he holds a Tier I Canada Research Chair in Geomatics Multi-Sensor Systems. Dr. El-Sheimy led the establishment of three companies and one research center (TECTERRA). He is the chairman of the board of directors of the Micro Engineering Group and the founder of Profound Positioning Inc., a leading company in navigation technologies of autonomous systems. Additionally, his research tackles a multitude of areas such as intelligent and autonomous systems, navigation and positioning technologies, satellite technologies, multi-sensor systems, and vehicles and transportation systems. Dr. El-Sheimy’s aerospace research focuses on the development of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and Inertial Navigation Systems, as well as the development of multi-sensor systems for continuous and reliable navigation in all environments.
