EVDS AthleticsOur baseball team has been renamed the EVDS Free Range Chickens as we did not live up to our billing as the EVDS Eagles. However in our first year, we were voted most improved team. There was much optimism at the beginning of this season. The team showed great improvement missing the playoffs by only a few wins. The highlight of the season other than the wrap-up party was the final game. The game was played through a raging hail storm, and we beat one of the most competitive teams--the champs from last year, the evil Education team. We were a laid-back team with a competitive spirit and we had a lot of fun. On another sporting front, the EVDS intramural volleyball team was GSA champion last season. For anyone interested in hockey, there are two ice times available this
year. Deb Zanewich organizes Tiny Tot Hockey, aimed at new
skaters, at 9 AM every Tuesday morning. Scott Boswell organizes
hockey for the fast-paced at 9 AM every Thursday morning. Both are pay as
you play. An intramural hockey team for winter term is being organized by
Ben Lee. Contact him for details.
