The Nation Building Scholarships Series has been established by the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE) in recognition of the important role to be played by engineers in the building of our nation given the technical challenges created by the geographical extent of the country, its low population density and its northern climate. This scholarship series is sponsored by the CAE, through the generous support from the CAE Fellows and the CAE Board. The Climate Change/Net Zero scholarship, the second one of the series, has been established specifically to encourage and recognize undergraduate students who showed a special interest in their career path, volunteer activities, work experience and/or community leadership, in helping Canada in 1) its adaptation to climate change by finding ways to reduce its negative effects on population and public infrastructures and/or 2) mitigation of Greenhouse Gas emissions with a long term goal to achieve a net-zero emission profile for the country. Applicants will be judged on academic and leadership achievements, answers provided in the application form and intent to pursue a career that would contribute to the fight against climate change in the areas of adaptation or emissions reduction (mitigation)
