Graduate Certificate in Leadership in Engineering and Advanced Practice
The Certificate requires 12 units of coursework:
6 units of core professional and leadership courses:
- Engineering Leadership 601
- Engineering Leadership 603
Plus 6 units of technical courses from one thematic area.*
Graduate Diploma in Leadership in Engineering and Advanced Practice
In addition to the 12 units completed in the Graduate Certificate in Engineering Leadership and Advanced Practice, the Diploma requires 12 units of coursework:
6 units of core professional and leadership courses:
- Engineering Leadership 605
- Engineering Leadership 607
Plus 6 units of technical courses from one thematic area.*
*Note: students will not be permitted to combine technical courses across themes; both technical courses for the certificate program and for the diploma program must be within a single theme. Students may not take the same thematic area courses in the Graduate Certificate and the Graduate Diploma. However, if a thematic/technical area has more than one theme (e.g. Power System Engineering, Project Management), then students could complete one theme in the certificate program, and the other theme in the diploma program.

Flexible Grade Option (CG Grade)
Students admitted to the Schulich School of Engineering will not be allowed to request the
Flexible Grade Option (CG Grade)
for any course that is applicable to their degree; or apply any course
awarded a grade of CG towards their graduation requirements.
Students may choose the CG grade for a course taken extra to load.
The use of the CG grade will affect students’ eligibility for internal awards.
