Challenges of Intersectionality in Mental Wellbeing
Evaluation of cultural, structural, systemic, and/or socioeconomic issues related to positive mental health and wellbeing in today’s society, through an intersectional lens that may include an analysis of ethnicity, culture, race, socioeconomic status, age, ability/disability, gender, sexuality, and other factors. Focus on developing students’ abilities to foster mental wellbeing in others. Course Hours:3 units; (3-0) Prerequisite(s):Psychology 203 and admission to the Embedded Certificate in Mental Health and Wellbeing.
Reflection and integration of experiential learning to engage in applied problem solving. Focus on helping students to become agents of change, fostering mental wellbeing in the community. Course Hours:3 units; (3S-0) Prerequisite(s):Wellbeing 300 and completion of 75 units.
