Applications are encouraged from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds including interdisciplinary undergraduate degrees, first professional design or planning degrees, post professional degrees and a combination of undergraduate degree and work-related experience.
Master of Environmental Design (thesis) applicants must provide a clear statement of their personal qualifications and research interests as part of their application package. Master of Environmental Design (Planning) applicants must provide a clear statement of their personal qualifications and an indication of which planning stream(s) they are most interested in. In addition to these statements, applicants must submit a ‘portfolio’ of their work, as selected by the applicant, to include at least one example of the applicant’s previous academic or professional writing. These may include a written essay, published research paper, major academic paper, design project, consulting report, creative thinking, community action, or creative ideas as related to the applicant’s statement of intent. If any of the work involves collaboration with others, please clearly identify what aspects of the work are from others.
