See also Section 3 (Faculty Regulations), Subsections 3.4B (Program Requirements - Major Degree Programs) and 3.5B (Introductory Courses for Science Degree Programs).

7.5 FCE - Geology 201, 203, 311, 323, 337, 341, 381, 373, 401, 423, 435, 503, 505, 571, 597

0.5 FCE - Option from the field of Geology (Geology 441 is recommended)

1.0 FCE - Geophysics 355, 565

1.0 FCE - Physics 211 or 221, 223

1.0 FCE - Chemistry 201 or 211, and 203 or 213

0.5 FCE - Mathematics 251 or 249 or 281 or Applied Mathematics 217

0.5 FCE - Mathematics 253 or 283 or Applied Mathematics 219

0.5 FCE - Mathematics 211

0.5 FCE - Mathematics 331

0.5 FCE - Statistics 327

0.5 FCE - Science 311

2.0 FCE - Science or Engineering options chosen from the following (see Notes):

*Recommended options

0.5 FCE - Option (Science or Engineering options are recommended)

3.5 FCE - Breadth requirement: Non-science options (see Notes)

Note: The Major program may contain a maximum of 10 FCE from the field of Applied and Environmental Geology, and the Honours program may contain a maximum of 12 FCE from the field of Applied and Environmental Geology.

Note: 600-level courses are available to fourth year students with prerequisites and consent of the Department.

Note: In order to meet the academic requirements for registration with APEGGA, the Applied and Environmental Geology Majors program must include, in addition to the physics and chemistry courses already required in the program, 0.5 FCE in biology, chemistry, computer science or physics. This choice must be made from the list of specified Science or Engineering options for the Applied and Environmental Geology Majors program.

Note: These 3.5 FCE and Science 311 form the 4.0 FCE non-science course requirements selected from Faculties other than the Faculty of Science (see Table I, 3.4. Program Requirements for courses that may not be used to satisfy this requirement). Of these 4.0 FCE, students must take at least 1.0 FCE from the Faculty of Arts (see (d) Breadth requirement in 3.4 Program Requirements.

Required Courses - Honours Program
