The Minor in International Indigenous Studies is regulated by the section of the Faculty of Arts Graduation Requirements entitled 3.4.4 Minor Fields. Students must successfully complete at least 5.0 and not more than 6.0 full-course equivalents from the Field of International Indigenous Studies including the following requirements:
1. Core Courses: Indigenous Studies 201 and 407; Political Science 343 or History 303; and Canadian Studies 311 or History 345.
2. Supporting Courses: An additional 3.0 full-course equivalents from Courses with a Canadian Focus and International Focus, found in the Field of International Indigenous Studies, of which:
(a) At least 2.0 full-course equivalents must have an “International Focus;”
AND
(b) Not more than 1.5 full-course equivalents can be at the 200 level;
AND
(c) At least 1.5 full-course equivalents must be at the 400 level or above;
AND
(d) Not more than 2.0 full-course equivalents may be taken from any single Major Field aside from international indigenous studies (e.g., Anthropology, Canadian Studies).
Notes:
- For the purposes of the Minor, Development Studies 201 can be included among the courses with an “International Focus.”
- For the purposes of the Minor, Indigenous Studies 312, 315, 317 and Native Studies 205 can be included among the courses with a “Canadian Focus.”
