The Dean's List, which is compiled annually at the end of the Winter Term, recognizes outstanding achievement by students in the Faculty. A statement of inclusion on the Dean's List will be recorded on the student's transcript.
To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must take a sufficient number of courses at the University of Calgary during the preceding Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter terms and achieve a grade point average of 3.60 or above over all University of Calgary courses taken during that period. The alternative course load requirements are as follows:
(a) A minimum of 4.0 full-course equivalents taken at the University of Calgary, OR
(b) A minimum of 4.0 full-course equivalents taken at the University of Calgary plus successful completion of one four-month Co-operative Education work placement, OR
(c) A minimum of 2.0 full-course equivalents taken at the University of Calgary plus successful completion of two four-month Co-operative Education work placements, OR
(d) A minimum of 2.0 full-course equivalents taken at the University of Calgary plus successful completion of one or more approved full-time terms abroad, OR
(e) A program of study assessed by the Disability Resources Centre to be equivalent to (a), (b), (c) or (d) for a particular student.
Notes:
- Where it is appropriate for a student to be assessed under provisions (d) or (e), the student must arrange for all necessary documentation to be received by the Associate Dean (Students) no later than May 15.
- Only University of Calgary grades for regular academic courses are used for the Dean’s List; grades earned for Co-operative Education work placements or study-abroad terms do not enter into the grade point average calculations for (b), (c) or (d).
