Bachelor of Nursing Program
The University of Calgary offers an innovative Bachelor of Nursing degree to prepare students for the opportunities and challenges of a nursing career in a changing health care system. Throughout the program, students are provided with a sound theoretical base and supervised clinical experience in a variety of nursing practice settings. Three BN routes are available: a four-year route for high school students, a two and one-half year route for transfer students and a two-year route for degree holders.
Note: Students will not be permitted to switch routes mid-program.
Bachelor of Nursing Program at Medicine Hat College Site
The BN Off-Site program at Medicine Hat College is a collaborative program offered entirely on the Medicine Hat College Site. It was developed jointly by the nursing faculty at the University of Calgary and Medicine Hat College in order to allow students in the Medicine Hat area increased access to a baccalaureate program without having to relocate.
Bachelor of Nursing Transitioning Program at Medicine Hat College Site
The BN Transitioning Program at Medicine Hat College, offered entirely on the Medicine Hat College Site, is for Licensed Practical Nurses and Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedics who have graduated from the PN Certificate Program at Bow Valley College, the PN Diploma Program at Bow Valley College or the EMT-P Program at Medicine Hat College.
