Full-time undergraduate Kinesiology students who have achieved high standards in academic course work and research are eligible to apply to an integrated undergraduate Kinesiology and thesis-based Master of Science Route. Successful applicants will be allowed to complete several graduate courses in their fourth year of study, which will be counted toward their undergraduate degree and also be considered as academic preparation for their graduate program. The purpose of the Route is to allow successful students the opportunity to complete a Master of Science (in Kinesiology) degree in approximately 12 months.
After completing a minimum of 28 and no more than 36 half-course equivalents, students may submit formal applications to the Kinesiology Student Programs Office. Deadline for all applications is May 1. Application forms can be found at www.kin.ucalgary.ca.
The following conditions must be met for admission to this Route:
- Full-time student registered in the Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Calgary
- The most recent five full-course equivalents must have been completed while registered as a student in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary
- Minimum GPA of 3.60 over the most recent five full-course equivalents
- Completion of Kinesiology 213
- A minimum grade of "B" in an undergraduate Statistics course
- Evidence of volunteer, course, or work-related experience in research

It should be noted that students are not guaranteed entry into Graduate Studies and are still expected to complete an application for Graduate Studies according to the policy and procedures outlined in the Calendar. The Route is intended to be preparatory to Graduate Studies.
In order to assist students in planning for this Route, students who have completed between eight and 12 full-course equivalents (i.e., after completion of two years of undergraduate study) and who plan to apply for the Integrated Route in the following year, are advised to submit a Letter of Intent (contact the Student Programs Office in Kinesiology (knesinfo@ucalgary.ca) or http://www.kin.ucalgary.ca for more details). Completing this process will give students access to supplementary counselling and program planning resources.
