All Biomedical Engineering Specialization students are required to complete a Biomedical Engineering practicum via at least one of the following options:
a) A minimum of four (4) months of industrial work experience in a Biomedical Engineering-related company (typically coordinated through the Engineering Internship Office), plus either the BME Thesis (Biomedical Engineering 500) or Project (Biomedical Engineering 501) course.
b) A minimum of four (4) months research placement in biomedical engineering (typically a summer in a BME laboratory), plus either the BME Thesis (Biomedical Engineering 500) or Project (Biomedical Engineering 501) course.
c) Successful completion of a 4th year BME thesis (Biomedical Engineering 500). All placements must be approved in advance by the Centre for Bioengineering Research and Education or designate.
