Introduction
Congratulations on being accepted into the Bachelor of Design in City Innovation program!
The Bachelor of Design in City Innovation offers a design-based framework for thinking about the world, its challenges, and to create inclusive and sustainable city-focused solutions. Hands-on, studio-based courses that tackle real-world projects, cross-cultural learning opportunities, and classes in advanced digital design tools, data science, entrepreneurship, and sustainability, provides a broader perspective and spark innovation for the betterment of communities and society.
The Bachelor of Design in City Innovation requires the completion of 120 units and normally takes four years of full-time study.

Degree programs and courses are each housed in a specific School or Faculty. Pursuing a Bachelor of Design in City Innovation means that you are a student in the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape.
If you are coming to the University of Calgary with Advanced Placement credit or International Baccalaureate credit, you will follow the same registration process as any first time university student. You may be eligible to use your transfer credit in your degree program depending on the program you have entered and whether or not the courses are applicable. You may view your transfer credit by logging in to your online Student Centre. Once you know the transfer credit you have received, you may contact the academic advisor in your faculty to get advice on course selection.
