What do you know about Health and Life research at UCalgary?
Have you ever wondered how your research might fit in with other Health and Life work being done at UCalgary?
This area of focus in the Institutes for Transdisciplinary Scholarship encompasses more than what we would typically associate with “health and life,” such as medicine or nursing. It also includes knowledge that lives in the communities with which we work and fully embraces Indigenous ways of knowing.
“From chronic diseases to child health, to biodiversity and animal and environmental health, research in the Health and Life sphere is as broad as we want to make it,” explains Dr. Steven Bryant, PhD, academic lead, Transdisciplinary Scholarship. “Our event on Oct. 21 is a chance for folks from across campus to learn more about the faculties and institutes involved in this Area of Focus, explore partnership opportunities and connect with industry partners.”
“Ultimately, it’s an opportunity to rally behind the big challenges and our strategy to pursue them,” he adds.
Campus community members are encouraged to participate for the entire day, or as their schedule allows. A full schedule is available on the registration page.
The Institutes for Transdisciplinary Scholarship is a connection point for the UCalgary community, from research institutes to individual scholars
To address barriers to working between, across, and beyond traditional academic disciplines and in partnership with communities, the Institutes for Transdisciplinary Scholarship (ITS) at UCalgary provides resources and a collective approach to impact societal challenges and opportunities by facilitating collaboration, co-learning, and knowledge transformation informed by multiple perspectives.
