UCalgary ranks among the world's top 200 universities

The University of Calgary has been ranked again as one of the world’s top universities, by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019. Released on Sept. 21, the ranking placed the university #199th in the world, and #9 nationally. The university’s strongest area of performance this year is citations, where it ranks #192 globally.

The Times Higher Education publishes the World University Rankings including the 1,258 top universities in the world, making it their biggest international league table to date. They evaluated universities across teaching, research, international outlook, reputation and more.

Ranking breakdown:

• 30% - Teaching (the learning environment)
• 30% - Research (volume, income and reputation)
• 30% - Citations (research influence)
• 7.5% - International outlook (staff, students and research)
• 2.5% - Industry income (knowledge transfer)
