Navigating mid-terms online
If you’ve never completed any kind of assessment online, consider taking a practice test. By registering for this Introduction to online learning course in D2L, you can try a sample test and access general tips for taking tests online.
You can also explore strategies and resources specific to online exams. This web resource covers everything you need to know about different types of tests, how to make sure your technology is set up, and general test taking tips. There are videos on what to do before, during and after you take an exam online, and there are a number of Success Seminars that specifically address exam anxiety and how to take a test online.
If you are not sure about any of the mid-term requirements, check with your instructor. It is better to be clear on expectations ahead of time than in the middle of a test.
You can also join the virtual study hall, which runs all semester, or make an appointment to speak one-on-one with an academic development specialist.
