It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Victoria Duggan of Fort McMurray at the ever-so-young age of 26.

Our beautiful soul was born in Fort McMurray, Alta., and later moved to Edmonton to obtain her nursing degree before moving back home to work at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre.

Victoria grew up in an environment dedicated to caring for others and giving back to the community, thus we were all immensely proud when she decided to pursue nursing. Never one to rest, she continued to advance her education and was working toward her master's in palliative nursing at the University of Calgary.

Victoria was passionate in all her pursuits. She was a strong advocate for the health-care system and her union brothers and sisters. Music and theatre held a special place in Victoria’s heart.

Most family and friends have a cat-hair-and-some-yarn knitted blanket made lovingly by Victoria, who was a natural nurturer.

Victoria leaves to mourn the loss of her beautiful life, a devastated family of her father, Patrick Duggan; mother, Jobina Bessant; brother, Colton Duggan; stepmom, Joy Duggan; and of course, her loving fur babies Mabel and Mittens.

Victoria was predeceased by her grandfather, Larry Bessant and her great-grandmother, GGM.

We would like to thank Robert Parmenter and his caring staff at Robert Anderson Funeral Services Inc. for going above and beyond in assisting us in our time of need.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to some of Victoria’s favourite organizations. The SPCA, University of Alberta Mixed Chorus Endowment Fund or The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 165.
