It’s time to move your transdisciplinary scholarship journey to the next level

Register for the next Gathering event by Sept. 23

With 16 new academic co-leads in place, the Institutes for Transdisciplinary Scholarship (ITS) is getting down to business with the next Gathering event, which takes place Sept. 25.

The event will bring together researchers from across campus to discuss the next steps in UCalgary’s transdisciplinary scholarship journey. Discussions will focus on the five focus areas: Cities and Societies, Digital Worlds, Energy Futures, Health and Life, and Democracy, Justice, and Sustainability.

“The Gathering is an opportunity for researchers to tell us what they need to grow their transdisciplinary scholarship and to begin collaborating with the academic co-leads and campus colleagues,” explains Dr. Steven Bryant, PhD, academic lead, transdisciplinary scholarship.

“We’re looking forward to a lively exchange of ideas that sparks new collaborations and connects colleagues and resources needed to take transdisciplinary projects to their next stage,” he adds.

The event takes place Sept. 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the MacEwan Ballroom. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and there will be ample opportunities for networking and building connections.

Register by Sept. 23.

The Institutes for Transdisciplinary Scholarship are a connection point for the UCalgary community, from research institutes to individual scholars.

To address barriers to working between, across, and beyond traditional academic disciplines and in partnership with communities, the Institutes for Transdisciplinary Scholarship (ITS) at UCalgary provide resources and a collective approach to impact societal challenges and opportunities by facilitating collaboration, co-learning, and knowledge transformation informed by multiple perspectives.
