MaPS Volunteers Needed for Committee Representation

August 26, 2020

Over the summer, the MaPS Executive Committee has been working on developing a new process for recruiting and selecting MaPS representatives for university committees. Our aim is to achieve a balance of representation from a variety of perspectives, that is, (i) both staff groups (management and professional) including varying lengths of services and experience; as well as (ii) provide learning and growth opportunities for our members.

Currently, there are three committees with vacancies for a MaPS representative. A brief summary of each committee is below.

Employee Recognition Steering Committee

Steering Committee was established with a long-term goal to promote and enhance a strong culture of recognition within the University Community at all levels. Create, maintain and enable a coherent set of formal and informal recognition practices and guidelines which support the University’s strategic plan. And improve University wide awareness of recognition opportunities.

Campus and Facilities Development Subcommittee

The Subcommittee serves as a GFC advisory group on technological and physical infrastructure as it relates to academic priorities and plans.

Research and Scholarship Committee

The Committee serves as GFC’s primary advisory group on research and scholarly initiatives, issues and activities. The Committee also promotes, supports and advocates for research and scholarly activity on campus and for faculty and student participation in research and scholarly activities.

If you’re interested in serving on any of these committees please submit your interest by September 4th.

Thank you,
MaPS Executive Committee
