Master of Social Work with a Child Welfare Focus
The Child and Family Services Division of the Ministry of Human Services and the University of Calgary have partnered to offer a one-time Masters of Social Work with a focus in child intervention beginning in Winter 2015.
This course-based Clinical Specialization MSW program consists of 10 courses offered over two years, including 525 hours of field practicum. The practicum may be completed at the student’s workplace and paid through the employer providing that arrangements can be made with the employer and pending final approval of the Faculty of Social Work. Faculty and accreditation requirements stipulate that the practicum must be outside the employee’s current job responsibilities and align with the learning objectives for social work field placements.
The first course will be scheduled in the Winter term of 2015. The entire program will be completed by the end of the Winter term of 2017.
