Aquathlon

UCTC Aquathlon is back! An aquathlon is a race that has both swimming and running. On May 27, we will host an aquathlon as part of the UCTC program. This will give the athletes a chance to swim 1000 M in the pool, exit the pool, go through transition, and then run their race distance of 5 KM. This event is open to all level athletes. Come to challenge yourself!

Triathlon Swim

The University of Calgary Triathlon program is one of the largest and most successful triathlon programs in the city. Participants train and encourage others to strive to be the best. Novice to experts are welcome. Triathlon is one of the most challenging sports to be involved in. Challenge yourself.

All swim sessions at the University of Calgary Aquatic Centre

Tues/Thur - 7:00pm to 8:30pm 
Sun - 4:00pm to 6:00pm (4:00-5:30pm during the spring & summer due) 
All sessions at the UCalgary Aquatic Centre

In order to participate in the triathlon swim program, there are pre requisites, see the description for more details.  All participants  will have a swim test on the first day.  Please expect up to 6 swimmers per lane.

Price will be pro rated to reflect new start date, July 2.

Youth Triathlon

Join the longest-serving Triathlon program in Canada! Learn proper swimming, biking and running technique from highly trained coaches. We have spin bikes for those who do not have a road bike and trainer. Training develops your aerobic and anaerobic systems to give you a good base for all sports. You will work with other youth at your level, with progression from start up, all the way to national team level training. The goal will be to have you ready to compete in The Kids of Steel Triathlon Series if you’re interested. This program welcomes athletes of all level.

Requirements: Successful completion of skills in Level 6.
Swimmers develop front crawl (25m), learn back crawl (25m) and whip kick on back, learn stride dive and treading water, perform head-first sculling on back, and swim 75 meters continuously.


Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm-6:45pm are bike and run sessions @ Cycle Centre on the track level of Fitness Centre
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00pm-8:30pm are swim sessions @ the UofC Aquatic Centre


Youth Triathlon Summer Camp

A triathlon is a multi-sport endurance event consisting of swimming, cycling, and running in immediate succession over various distances. This triathlon camp is offered by University of Calgary Triathlon Club, the longest serving Triathlon Club in Canada. Learn proper swimming, biking and running technique from highly trained coaches. Camp activities develop your aerobic and anaerobic systems to give you a good base for all sports. You will have fun with other youth at your level, with progression from start up, all the way to National Team level training. The purpose of this camp is to introduce this sport to campers and help them improve their transition times and their overall performance our coaches employ various, enjoyable techniques and activities. Come to challenge yourself this summer!

In order to participate in this camp, participants must have completed Red Cross Swim Kids Level 6 or equivalent. Swimmers develop front crawl (25m), learn back crawl (25m) and whip kick on back, learn stride dive and treading water, perform head-first sculling on back, and swim 75 meters continuously. Participants will have to bring their bikes to and from each day with a personal lock, as Active Living does not have overnight storage.
