Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans - Graduate Student Training

Working with Tri-Council, the University of Calgary is committed to providing graduate students a strong foundation of knowledge when it comes to ethical conduct for research activities. With the release of the updated Tri-Council Policy Statement 2, a new training tool has been launched: the Course on Research Ethics (CORE) Tutorial.

Adhering to the TCPS2 guidelines helps foster a community of conscientious researchers who carry out their research in an ethically sound environment. As graduate students entering this community, now is the time to be educated in and aware of these guiding principles.

As it is vital all graduate students are aware of how to ethically conduct research involving humans. Effective January 2012 a successful ethics certification application requires graduate students to include the CORE Tutorial certificate.

Accessible online, the CORE Tutorial is a straightforward, concise and efficient eight (8) module course. Students need only register and proceed to the tutorial. Once the tutorial is complete a certificate is issued. When you register, please use your institution email address (name@ucalgary.ca).
