Jenna Doig

Biography: Jenna is a second-year medical student at the University of Toronto.  She graduated with an honours degree in Health and Society (psychology concentration) from the Bachelor of Health Sciences program at the University of Calgary in 2007.  Under the supervision of Drs. Melanie Rock and John McLennan, Jenna is continuing work on two projects initiated during her undergraduate studies; one on the media portrayal of animal-assisted therapy for children with special needs and the other on the impact of therapeutic respite care services on children with special needs and their families.  She has received studentship funding from the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research for this work.


Research Interests: Paediatrics, disability studies, health services impacts and utilization, qualitative and mixed-methods research
