Enhance your leadership skills

Want to enhance your leadership skills? ucalgarycares Global Citizenship is a co-curricular program where students develop their own unique leadership identities while making a difference.

In May the group volunteers their time for a broad range of non-profit organizations. Examples of past activities include attending a smudging ceremony at Native Child and Family Services, learning about LGBTQ+ immigration issues at the Rainbow Railroad, receiving a climate change presentation at the Pembina Institute and sorting donations at the Parkdale Community Food Bank.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, the ucalgarycares programs are on hold for 2022, therefore registration is not open at this time. Please refer to LSE Events for current events available through the Leadership and Student Engagement office as well as current programs offered through Community Engagement.

Prior to May the participants attend four workshops to prepare themselves for the program experience. Participating in this program is a great way to gain experience, get Co-Curricular Record credit, develop skills to address social issues in your own community, make friends and have a great time.
