Free Concussion Course

The Sport Injury Prevention Research Centre has launched a new, on-line course to demystify concussion. The course, led by Dr. Kathryn Schneider, PhD, explains how everyone can play a role to prevent, identify and manage this type of traumatic brain injury. It also demonstrates how concussion management protocol can be adapted to the characteristics and resources of different sports and settings. This course is in collaboration with the Université of Laval.

Schneider et al were the recipients of the 2018 JOSPT Excellence in Research Award: We are honoured to have received the 2018 JOSPT Excellence in Research Award for our article titled: "Changes in Measures of Cervical Spine Function, Vestibulo-ocular reflex, Dynamic Balance and Divided Attention Following Sport-Related Concussion in Elite Youth Ice Hockey Players" which was published in the December 2018 issue of JOSPT. Thank you to all of the players, coaches, parents, research staff, clinicians and Hockey Calgary for their contributions to this study!
