Annual Evacuation Drills
Building evacuation drills are one way to prepare for an emergency and help create a safe campus environment. Evacuation drills are a regulatory requirement, but also provide many benefits. Evacuation drills provide opportunities for responders, building occupants, and the Emergency Management department to prepare for emergency situations.
Evacuation drills help ensure that students, faculty and staff know how to exit buildings on campus safely and as quickly as possible. Campus-wide evacuation drills are conducted annually.
Fall 2023 Evacuation Drills
The next annual evacuation drills will take place in fall 2023. Those people who work, teach, or study in a building scheduled to be evacuated should plan for a fifteen minute disruption to your daily activities. Make sure you review Evacuation training and know:
- the 2023 Evacuation Drill schedule
- your evacuation instructions
- the assembly point and evacuation maps for your building
- instructors and staff overseeing student study spaces, assist your population in routing to the appropriate exit and assembly point
