Henry

Henry Michael, PhD

Henry Michael is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, where he works under the mentorship of Dr. Tolulope Sajobi.

He earned his PhD in Experimental Medicine from McGill University, where he explored the intersection of medication burden, frailty, and cognition in ageing individuals with HIV. His doctoral research was part of the Positive Brain Health Now (BHN) study, and he also contributed to the Quebec Action for Post-COVID (QAPC) study. Additionally, his research extends to multinational HIV studies, collaborating with global consortiums such as Advancing Clinical Therapeutics Globally (ACTG) and the African Cohort Study (AFRICOS).

With a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm), an MSc in Pharmacology, and a career spanning clinical practice, public health, data science, and marketing, Michael embraces an interdisciplinary approach to healthcare research. His work focuses on innovative, cross-disciplinary methodologies for patient-reported outcome measurement and health trajectory analysis, aiming to improve healthcare systems and the quality of life for individuals facing complex health challenges.
