Elisabeth is a Research Assistant in the Carlson Lab, where she primarily supports the SEAMLESS and CAN-PACT studies. She has a longstanding interest in psychosocial oncology and has been pursuing a career in academia since the age of 12, with a focus on improving quality of life for cancer survivors. Cancer has had a profound impact on her life, and she currently serves as a caregiver to a loved one with advanced cancer. Her academic training centers on the psychological and social dimensions of health and illness. During her master’s degree, she examined the relationship between adverse childhood experiences and mental health in young adulthood, with a particular focus on resilience as a protective factor. Across her work, Elisabeth is driven by a strong commitment to enhancing quality of life for individuals living with cancer, survivors, and their loved ones. Elisabeth plans to pursue a PhD in psychosocial oncology and further improve research and knowledge in the field.
