Anthropology (Bachelor of Science)

Anthropology (Bachelor of Science)

BSc

Why choose Anthropology?

Anthropologists ask questions such as: Do non-human primates deceive each other? Why do many primates live in groups? How does grooming strengthen social bonds?

Study the fossil remains of our human ancestors, the living primates, as well as the adaptation of living humans to different environments. During the course of your studies, you'll gain statistical analysis skills, research capabilities, written and verbal communication skills, and a deeper understanding of what it means to be human.

Career opportunities

As an Anthropology graduate, you’ll be prepared for career opportunities in areas such as the:

  • civil service
  • non-profit sector
  • business world

A degree in Anthropology can also be used as a stepping-stone to graduate studies or another professional degree such as law, medicine, veterinary medicine, or education.

Program highlights

  • Co-operative work placement - Gain valuable full-time paid work experience that alternates with your academic studies.
  • Field school - Discipline-specific classes taken in real-world settings, and involving hands-on course work.
  • Honours Degree - In-depth study of a specific topic completed under the supervision of a faculty member.
