V.134 Release Notes

Version 134 of the UCalgary Web System is now live, featuring a range of updates and fixes. Check out the release notes for a full overview of the latest changes.

What’s Fixed? 

Bugs and issues resolved in the latest release.  

  • Improvements made to the menu item aliases of pages. Updates still needed for sites with multiple words in the URL pattern. 

  • Fixed issue preventing unpublished pages from being searchable or properly assigned to menus via the menu interface. 

  • Resolved issues with node alias redirects and redirecting files in the file manager. 

  • Fixed missing Block type column for non-Support roles and improved usability in the Custom block library report. 

  • Investigated PHP error in News nodes. 

  • Eliminated PHP warnings in News feed middleware. 

  • Disabled directory listing for /images to reduce security risk.  

 

What’s New? 

New features, block enhancements, and system updates from the latest release.   

  • Apple and Spotify embeds are now supported in streaming media blocks and in the Article and Multimedia content types in News. Media URL validation is currently underway. 

  • Various Views Enhancements. 

    • New Profiles Report view with email filtering, added reset buttons and advanced filter options.

  • Removed Comments module from News. 

  • Updated PHP and node version in base image and general PHP code cleanup.

 

Other items from this sprint 

  • Automated test fixes and improvements.

  • Resolved taxonomy term casing in Profile tests. 

  • Began the decommissioning process for the Qatar site. 

 

In Progress 

Work that is currently in progress and will be included in an upcoming release.  

Fixes 

  • Investigate PHP warning in Page Filter blocks related to array-to-string conversion. 

  • Update Search API Solr to 4.3.10 to reduce security risk.  

  • Turn off revisions for Undergraduate Degree Guide List block by default to reduce unnecessary database entries. 

Enhancements  

  • Update user permissions to restrict deletion rights to Support team only.  

  • Modify post-deploy script to point News Feed block URLs to staging-news instead of production in staging environments. 

  • Improving News performance by skipping body content preprocessing in teaser view mode for Announcement, Article, and Multimedia types.  

Other 

  • Review XML sitemap module to address incorrect URLs, HTTP/HTTPS mismatches, and sitemap generation issues across multiple subdomains. 

  • Automated test fixes and improvements. 

    • Alias settings for Tag Landing Pages in News

    • Dynamic Feeds test during article creation

    • Admin Menu module and revised Basic Page tests to include content creation by Support and SiteAdmin roles.

  • Continue the decommissioning process for the Qatar site.
