John W. Friesen, PhD., professor, Faculty of Education, and Virginia Lyons Friesen, PhD., sessional instructor, Faculty of Communication and Culture, have a new book on the stands titled Western Canadian Native Destiny; complex questions on the cultural maze (Calgary, AB: Detselig). The book deals with contemporary Native issues such as self-government, economic development, land claims, justice, health, education and welfare, spirituality, cultural identity, etc.
