West campus project team hosts open houses Wednesday, Thursday

UToday HomeMarch 5, 2013

On March 6 and March 7, the West Campus Development Trust will share information and ask for public input on the emerging concept for the west campus lands at the University of Calgary.

The two open houses are a chance to see the evolving plans and share ideas:

  • Wednesday, March 6: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the MacEwan Student Centre, South Courtyard;
  • Thursday, March 7: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the EEEL Building, Main Lobby.

Over the last several months, the master plan Stakeholder Working Group — which included representatives of the University of Calgary Students’ Union, Graduate Students’ Association, faculty and staff — discussed key elements of the conceptual plan including street layout, open space and amenity opportunities as well as the potential mix of land uses and building types on the site.

The west campus project team is excited about the opportunity to share ideas and receive input from all stakeholders.

In addition to the campus events, there will be evening engagement meetings in the communities of Varsity and University Heights. Those events are scheduled for:

  • Wednesday, March 6: 5 to 8:30 p.m. at Varsity Acres Presbyterian Church, 4612 Varsity Dr. N.W.;
  • Thursday, March 7: 5 to 8:30 p.m. at University School, 3035 Utah Dr. N.W.

Committed to operating with integrity and transparency, the West Campus Development Trust plans to share information openly, seek input and learn from stakeholders. Stay connected and seek opportunities to participate via the WCDT Community Newsletter or by adding your name to the email list on their website.
