Homestay program needs homes

UToday HomeApril 3, 2012

The English Language Program in Continuing Education is looking for families who can provide homes to international students for a five-week period this summer.

International students are drawn to the university from all over the word to attend English as a Second Language (ESL) immersion courses.

“Over the years, we’ve found that university staff make perfect homestay providers,” says Yassin Boga, director of the English Language Program. “We’ve had great participation from the university community in the past, and always find them to be ideal hosts for our students. We are always hopeful that more staff will come onboard to provide homes.”

Homestay providers must be able to give students an English-speaking home environment, a bedroom, and three meals a day from July 28 to September 1, 2012. Homes must be located within 50 minutes of the main campus. Remuneration is provided on a per student basis.
