Philosophia is the University of Calgary’s Undergraduate Philosophy Club—an inclusive and safe space with events open to any undergraduate student who would like to be a part of the philosophy community.

You can be an integral part of the club as their next junior executive for VP Operations! Apply by October 11, 2020 if you are passionate about philosophy, and want to help Philosophia achieve their goal of promoting this important field of study to the UCalgary student body.

Philosophia’s most popular event is Philosobeers, currently in quarantini edition as a weekly virtual discussion focusing on a variety of philosophical topics. This is a very casual and welcoming setting, open to anyone wanting to join or even just listen in. This week’s (Friday, October 9) topic is Law and Morality, and the question: “Do laws represent morality?”

Philosophia also provides writing workshops hosted by professors and graduate students. For the latest updates on when these will happen, please check the Philosophia website or follow them on social media (links below). Lastly, Philosophia executives offer philosophy-related academic support to their members throughout the semester, including clarification on confusing course topics and proofreading of papers. P You can book an appointment with them (at least one week before the assignment is due) by contacting philosophiacalgary@gmail.com
