UCalgary Launches Search for Next Chancellor

The public search closes February 22, 2022

Calgary, AB - The University of Calgary has launched the search for the 15th Chancellor in its history, as Deborah Yedlin’s four-year term comes to a close in July of this year. A prominent ambassador for UCalgary, the Chancellor is an advocate for advancing the university’s vision and making connections with the community.

The Chancellor is selected by and chairs the university Senate and will play a key role in communicating the story of Canada’s entrepreneurial university. They will also preside over convocation, confer degrees on our next generation of leaders, serve as a member of the Board of Governors and participate in activities that deepen our connection to our Calgary community.

The position includes a number of commitments both on and off campus including engaging with students through the Chancellor’s Club Scholars, granting honorary degrees, attending Senate and Board of Governors meetings, participating in institutional events, and raising funds for student awards through various initiatives.
