UCalgary experts available: International Women’s Day
Calgary, AB – International Women’s Day (March 8) is a day to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about women’s equality, and further the conversation around gender biases.
UCalgary has a variety of experts available to discuss International Women’s Day related topics.
Cumming School of Medicine
Dr. Katrina Milaney, PhD, Associate Professor Community Health Sciences, Lead, Social and Structural Vulnerabilities Program O'Brien Institute for Public Health
Areas of expertise: structural violence and racism, and the implications for marginalized and racialized women and families, changes to policies and systems to address homelessness, violence, mental health and substance use.

Dr. Pallavi Banerjee, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, University of Calgary
Areas of expertise: impacts of COVID-19 on immigrant women, inequality women face, feminism, and intersectionality.
