Four-year agreement runs to June 30, 2024

The governors of the University of Calgary and the Faculty Association of the University of Calgary (TUCFA) have ratified a new collective agreement.

The new four-year agreement runs from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2024, and includes a 1.25 per cent salary increase on April 1, 2023, a 1.5 per cent increase on Dec. 1, 2023, and an additional 0.5 per cent increase retroactive to Dec. 1, 2023 if Alberta real GDP for the 2023 calendar year is at or above 2.7 per cent. Additionally, two new salary steps have been added for sessional appointees for July 1, 2022. All other items will take effect July 1, 2022.

Additional key elements of the new collective agreement cover topics such as research and scholarship leave, promotions, parental and maternity leave, and instructor stream titles.

Thank you to both bargaining teams for their hard work and dedication to this process. An electronic copy of the new collective agreement will be posted on the Academic Labour Relations website in the coming months.
