System outage: CareerLink, Success and Involvement portals

Scheduled upgrade to take place from Nov. 26 – Dec. 1

We'll be conducting an upgrade of all Orbis-based platforms, including CareerLink, the Student Success Centre's Learning Support and Advising Portal, and the Involvement Portal, from Thursday, Nov. 26 at 5 p.m. to Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 8 a.m. All three platforms will be unavailable during this time.

After the upgrade, all three portals will be merged into a single platform. This is the first step in a multi-stage approach to launching a campus-wide experiential learning platform.

How will this affect me?

Advising appointments, events and job postings will be unavailable during the outage. If you have a question about an advising appointment scheduled during the outage, please contact the support unit through which you made the appointment.

Why?

A campus-wide platform will link students, faculty, staff and community partners so they can share and discover experiential learning opportunities, such as co-ops, internships, practicums, field study programs, community-based learning, undergraduate research opportunities and much more.

These experiences support students in discovering a sense of purpose, enhance their civic consciousness and employability, and prepare them for leadership roles in their communities and organizations.

Our capacity to track and report on experiential learning activities will be greatly enhanced by a centralized, consolidated platform.

What’s next?

The Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning, Student Engagement Services and IT will be working with faculties and units across campus to support the consolidated platform and to populate it with high-quality experiential learning opportunities.
