Safety Audit for Kinesiology
Within the next few weeks, the Environment Health and Safety, or EHS, team will be carrying out site visits in the Faculty of Kinesiology to assess what is currently in place for hazard controls such as signage, physical distancing, masks, disinfecting practices, etc. All faculties are included in this assessment and a report will be provided to the leadership team.
If you are working on campus, please be sure you have reviewed and acknowledged the Workspace Safety Plan (WSP) and protocols established for your area. The WSP is essential to the health and safety of you and your colleagues.
Where will the site visits be carried out?
There will be approximately 20 areas selected on a semi-random basis to ensure representation of the various work environments across the faculty.
Why are we doing this?
The primary reason is to ensure we are keeping people healthy and safe at work. This assessment activity can help us identify suggestions for improvement and enables the University to demonstrate compliance with provincial requirements for all post-secondary institutions to have plans in place.
What do I need to do?
If you have already acknowledged your WSP, thank you. Please continue to follow safe practices because we know the practices and your efforts are working! If you have not been provided with a WSP, or have not yet acknowledged one emailed to you, please work with your supervisor or manager to complete this. If you are not currently working on campus, you are not expected to have signed on to a WSP. However, we do recommended that you understand UCalgary’s COVID-19 Re-entry Protocols.
For technical assistance with using the WSP SharePoint site, please contact campus.reentry@ucalgary.ca.
If you have questions, please speak with your manager or supervisor OR contact your EHS Consultant, Debra Di Santo dadisant@ucalgary.ca.
