In Memoriam: Darlene Warren, librarian emerita
It is with a heavy heart that UCalgary shares the news that our librarian emerita, friend and former colleague Darlene Warren has passed away. Darlene served as the associate university librarian at the University of Calgary for more than 25 years, where she was instrumental in the development of the Information Commons.
She also held leadership roles at the Gallagher Library, Health Sciences Library and Military Museums. Many of you had the opportunity to work with her and will remember her as a vibrant force who approached her work with enthusiasm and vigour. Darlene’s passion for libraries connected her to the UCalgary community even after her retirement in 2014.
A virtual celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Calgary time. Family and friends are invited to join the celebration, which will be streamed live on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view the service live, a recording of the celebration will be posted.
