In Memoriam: Geri Anderson, Cumming School of Medicine

The Cumming School of Medicine (CSM) mourns the passing of Geri Anderson on Feb. 10, 2022. She was 61.

Geri was beloved in the CSM community, particularly by her colleagues at the Mental Health Clinical Trials Centre, members of the Hotchkiss Brain Institute’s Mathison Centre for Mental Health Research and Education and participants in clinical trials. She was a dedicated nurse with a deep respect for those experiencing mental health challenges or mental illness.

For 24 years she worked in clinical trial research and contributed to publications in professional medical journals. For the last 13 years she worked in research at the CSM, including as clinical trials co-ordinator for the Department of Psychiatry.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Calgary on Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. Reception to follow at McInnis and Holloway Funeral Home. Memorial tributes may be made directly to Sleeping Children Around the World, a charity near to Geri’s heart that provides resources and support to impoverished children around the world.
