Future of Women’s Rights and Education in Afghanistan
Dr. Attaullah Wahidyar, the former Deputy Minister of Education in Afghanistan will speak Thursday, Feb. 3, 6 p.m. in a free, online webinar hosted by the University of Calgary, Faculty of Social Work.
Dr. Wahidyar’s presentation will touch on his own experience after the Taliban took over. He’ll also speak about the achievements made in women’s rights and girl’s education over the last two decades, the resistance he faced from the Taliban, and the status and future of the women’s rights and girls’ education in Afghanistan.
The former minister’s presentation is part of a Master of Social International and Community Development course; however, this webinar is being opened to the public at no cost.
